(CNN Spanish) - The Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela annulled on Thursday the reform of the rules of interior and debate approved this Tuesday by the National Assembly of opposition majority and in which the virtual vote was included.

The modification would allow deputies to participate and vote in debates virtually. Lawmakers argued that the measure seeks to respond to what they have described as prosecution.

For the highest court in the country, such reform is unconstitutional.

The Supreme Court ruling comes twenty-four hours after three deputies who were elected as opponents went to that body to challenge the reform of the internal regulation because it considers that it violates the rights of the alternate deputies.

The party bench of the questioned president, Nicolás Maduro, withdrew during the vote to reject the change. The reform was approved with 93 votes and on the grounds that 29 of the 112 deputies elected by the opposition have been pardoned by parliamentary immunity by a mechanism other than that established in the Magna Carta and in what they denounce is a process of judicialization of politics.

At the moment, the president of the National Assembly, Juan Guaidó, has not reacted to the decision.

Judge Juan José Mendoza was sanctioned along with seven other judges by the United States Department of the Treasury indicated to be responsible for judicial decisions with which the authority of the National Assembly usurps.
