Tripoli-Sana
The Libyan army reiterated its rejection of any military intervention by the Turkish regime in Libya, stressing that the whole world opposes this intervention.
The Director of the Moral Guidance Department in the army, Major General Khaled Al Mahjoub, denounced the agreement of the Libyan government of Al-Wefaq to the military intervention of the Turkish regime forces and said: "We are the right owners and we will fight to the end," stressing the need to preserve the sovereignty of Libya.
"The whole world stands against terrorism and will not accept Turkish military intervention," Mahjoub added, noting at the same time that the Libyan army's operations are targeting armed militias.
Libyan media reported yesterday that the Al-Wefaq government headed by Fayez al-Sarraj decided at its last meeting to request what it described as "qualitative and logistical support from Turkey."
The Libyan parliament in Tobruk earlier condemned the announcement of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of his willingness to send his forces to Libya, warning him that "Libya will not be a gateway for the return of the defunct Ottoman occupation to the Arab world."
