Beirut-Sana
Protest activities and blocking of roads continued in some Lebanese regions today to protest against the living situation and to demand accountability for the corrupt.
According to the Lebanese National Media Agency, protesters cut off the Halba highway in Akkar, in northern Lebanon, completely with tires, steel barriers, and the Kosha town junction, in dirt.
In Danniyeh, in northern Lebanon, protesters cut the main Denniyeh road, which connects it with the city of Tripoli with dirt berms at the Brad Moawad Junction, the Ma`am al-Bayad junction, Mahallat al-Bayyad and al-Awaywinah, and at the entrance to the town of al-Fawwar, with stones and burning tires, while elements of the Lebanese army and security forces were trying to reopen it again to citizens.
The majority of public and private schools, institutes, and secondary schools in Denniye closed their doors to students, while protesters in Akkar cut a number of their main roads.
Since October 17, Lebanon has witnessed protests and blockages of roads, especially in northern Lebanon, the south and the Bekaa, which have had a major impact on the movement of citizens in these areas.
