Talal Abu Zarifa, a member of the Supreme Committee of Return Marches, revealed on Saturday that in 2020, there has been a tendency to violate order violations on the Gaza border only on a monthly basis, or in the case of national events. This was reported in Palestinian media.

The violent events on the Gaza border every Friday for the past two years have become a constant point of friction between Israel and Hamas. The young people usually try to sabotage the perimeter fence and throw explosives at the security forces, which use means to disperse demonstrations. Any death of a rogue young man or another could lead to launches toward the South and a new escalation.

Against the backdrop of talks by senior Hamas officials in Cairo, the terrorist organization appears to be gradually seeking to reduce the events of the "return marches." This is in order to advance to new understandings with Israel that will include additional relief in the restricted siege of the Gaza Strip. Senior members of the organization, including the head of the Haniyeh Political Bureau and his deputy Salah Aruri, are currently in Qatar, and reportedly spoke to the Doha leadership regarding continued financial aid. Qatari envoy Mohammed Al-Amadi promised last week to renew the aid contract in March 2020. In the coming days, more grants are expected to be distributed to tens of thousands of needy families.

Abu Zarifa, a member of the political bureau of the "Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine," told Palestinian media that the "marches of return" are nearing the end of their second year, which requires the committee to evaluate their conduct and direct and strategic goals in order to establish achievements.

"There are many proposals around the return march mechanism, including a proposal to conduct them monthly and at national events," Abu Zarifa said. He emphasized that the decision on the matter depends on the agreement of the representatives of the various groups on the organizing committee.

In addition, the Palestinian official noted that the discussions on the issue were intended to leverage the march's achievements and reduce the damage to order violators. He explained that the tendency to reduce the frequency of demonstrations comes in the light of the fact that the demonstrations each week waste too much energy.

Gaza Health Ministry reported yesterday that participants in the violent events on the fence have been harmed to varying degrees and received medical treatment. This is while the IDF is using the means to disperse demonstrations. Remember, last week, demonstrations were held at limited points along the border due to parades on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Hamas' official establishment. Last month, the "marches of return" were canceled due to Israeli mediation talks. Hamas reported a calm, reported by the Arab media.

Still, dozens of young men tried to sabotage the perimeter fence and threw explosives at security forces. Later, the Gaza Ministry of Health announced that a 16-year-old boy was shot dead by IDF fire and died from his wounds, leading to a rocket launch to Israel and an IDF attack in the Gaza Strip. Following this event, the Organizing Committee of the Marching Returns announced the resumption of the demonstrations.
