US President Donald Trump celebrated the launch of the Space Force, the first new military arm in the United States Armed Forces in 70 years.

The president signed the new National Defense Order allowing the Corps to be created, stating that it was a victory for one of the projects he declared he would lead upon entering the White House more than three years ago.

The order is part of a $ 1.4 billion government spending package, which includes the US defense budget and is also expected to include extra budgets for building the separation borders on the Mexican border, which Trump promised during his election campaign.

Public support for the United States to establish a space force is great, and the military sees such a central organization as enabling the United States to defend its expanding interests around the Earth's atmosphere.

The need to protect American satellites, alongside the growing space capabilities of Russia and China, helped convince many in the Pentagon that a concerted effort was required to achieve military supremacy in the field.

US Secretary of Defense Mark Asper told reporters: "Our reliance on military capabilities based on space presence has increased dramatically, and today space has become a fighting arena in itself."
