With the wishes of peace for Syria and the world, the General Ensemble of Music (Scout of Olives) for the Royal Melkite Catholics performed this evening a concert (Syria, Your Birth of Peace), in the Al-Kasaa area in Damascus.
The celebration included lighting the Christmas tree, a scouting musical for the public band, Gregorian hymns for the choir of the Sanabel choir of love from Saint Germanos Monastery, songs in the language of Christ presented by the Maaloula Aramaic band and an artistic concert by artists Shadi Jamil and Tony Guba.
In a statement to SANA, Archimandrite Naeem Al-Gharbi, priest of the parish of Our Lady of Nayah Cathedral for the Melkite Roman Catholics in Damascus, said: “Every year, on the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ, peace is born in our lives.
In his turn, the leader of the General Ensemble of Music, the Scout of Olives, Ibrahim Abu Hanna, explained that the event is being organized for the second year in the middle of the Kassaa region, and it is a message to the world that Syria is the source of love and peace.
The director of Damascus Tourism, Tariq Krishati, saw that these activities are proof that Syria is doing well after restoring security and stability to most of its lands thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army.
For his part, the head of the Damascus City Council, Khaled Al-Harah, indicated that the city witnesses various celebrations and events during this period to celebrate the glorious Christmas and victory that was achieved by the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army and to confirm the steadfastness of the Syrians and their entitlement to life.
A number of families expressed to the SANA correspondent their hope that Christmas brings peace and security to all Syrians, and Christine Hanna, Rita Esber and Miri Abu Kassem expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army that brought joy back to their hearts.
