The Lebanese army reopened the main international road between Minya and Abda in Akkar, North Lebanon, after protesters cut it today to facilitate the movement of the people of the region and secure their needs.

The Lebanese National Media Agency stated that the bulldozers worked to raise the earthen mud and soil at the roundabout of Abda and at the Muhammarah Bridge and the movement began to gradually return to this vital and essential road at the southern entrance to Akkar.

The army also prevented the blocking of the Beirut-Beirut sea route, while the main Beirut-Beirut highway remained cut off, and elements of the army carried out a wide spread in various streets of Beirut and its neighborhoods and at intersections of roads to check the identities of young men on motorcycles and arrest those wanted.

The Lebanese army worked for a second day to prevent the blocking of roads in the capital, Beirut, in the areas of the Corniche of Mazraa, Verdun, and Qasqas, after hundreds of protesters tried to sit-in, blocking the road leading to the Barbir region.

The Traffic Control Chamber reported that the Saadiyat Highway linking southern Lebanon was re-cut in both directions, and the Marj and Qib Elias junction in the Bekaa were cut off by burning tires by some protesters, while the Lebanese army prevented them from cutting the Beirut Road towards Khaldeh and the south.

To that number of people carried out a protest in front of the building of the EDL, in which they called to refrain from paying taxes and fees and stop paying the bank loans due, as well as protesters implemented a similar stand in front of the headquarters of the Electricity Corporation in Sidon.
