Dvir Indig, a resident of Oranit, applied for approval of a class action lawsuit against Bank Hapoalim for NIS 1.15 billion. According to him, 500,000 Israeli residents of Judea and Samaria are being discriminated against in receiving mortgages from Bank Hapoalim.
Indig wanted to look into the possibility of "mortgage recycling" and called the Bank Poale Mortgage Hotline to receive a million NIS mortgage recycling proposal. Indig claims that when the bank's banker realized that it was an apartment in Oranit, "on the border of the Green Line," he immediately replied that the operation was not possible.
Indig claims that a workforce mortgage representative insisted on ending the call on the grounds that the service could not be provided to the customer.
Bank Hapoalim responded in response: "The suit has not yet been received. The Bank does not discriminate against mortgages and loans by geographical area. In general, the Bank provides housing loans in Judea and Samaria as well. The Civil or Zionist Organization, you can get a mortgage anywhere. "
