There is a country to build here, and in recent years we have not acted in the right direction. Israel is about to double in the next three decades, and the pace of construction is not right now. If we consider that 1.5 meters of public buildings are built on every meter of private construction, this is a billion-dollar investment, and the stock exchange is the most appropriate instrument to finance them.
Under normal circumstances, this is relatively short-term financing, and the return on it makes the investment worthwhile. We can all benefit from this more than once - both from the fruits of investment and from the land. Only if the stock market develops can we enjoy the fruits of investment, through our pension funds and funds in general.
Real estate stock indices increase the attractiveness of these stocks. The next government will need to revive real estate through the market. Stop being entrepreneurial and allow this market to be the locomotive of growth. Israelis need to go back to investing in the country, repatriating their investments from the world and investing in shekels and construction here.
There is room for more entrepreneurial and contracting companies in Israel, and it is time to return to the vision of building the country through investments from Israel and abroad.
