Police-affiliated media say air defense systems opened fire on planes flying over the city's military airport • Residents reported explosions
Missile trails over a hot city in central Syria
Syrian state-run news agency "Sana" reported that the air defense systems were operating at unidentified aircraft over the military airport in the city of Hama.
Residents at the site reported hearing explosions on social networks. Photos on social networks showed missile trails near the city. Syrian media say it is a shooting at drones.
An al-Arab correspondent, Ziad Halabi, told social media surfers on Twitter that Iran had recently begun deploying drones at Syrian Air Force bases in Hema province and wondered if the events were related to this move.
