The LCSD said that during the Christmas period (24-26), it will take a series of measures with other government departments at its venues, especially in places where there is expected to be a lot of people, to ensure that the place is clean and safe. These include the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza, Salisbury Gardens, Tsim Sha Tsui Waterfront Gardens, Star Avenue, Middle Road Children's Playground, Tsim Sha Tsui East Waterfront Podium Gardens, and the Urban Council Centennial Gardens.
A spokesman for the LCSD said that together with law enforcement teams of relevant departments, patrols will be strengthened at the venues in Tsim Sha Tsui to take enforcement actions against littering, illegal sales and vandalism, stressing that litterers can be fined 1,500 yuan. The Department also urged the public to keep the place neat and clean and pay attention to safety during the Christmas season, and reminded the public to stay calm in crowded places.
