China called on the United States of America to stop interfering in its internal affairs by using religious issues.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said today that the Chinese people are more right to talk about conditions of freedom of religious belief in their country, calling on the US side to stop interfering in China's internal affairs by using religious issues.
In response to the statement issued by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo recently, in which he said that the American State included nine countries, including China, in the list of so-called “countries of special interest”, Geng stressed that what the United States did ignore the facts is not based on any basis expressing opposition China resolute to him.
He explained that the Chinese government protects the religious freedom of citizens and that people of different nationalities have full freedom of belief in accordance with the law.
Two days ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping, during a phone conversation with his US counterpart Donald Trump, criticized the American behavior towards his country, stressing that it represents interference in China's internal affairs and harms its interests.
