Endless cruelty : Iranian security forces slaughtered no fewer than 1,500 protesters during the country's fuel protest last month, three Iranian officials have revealed to Reuters.

According to officials, the news agency claims to have held positions in the Interior Ministry of the Islamic Republic, including 13 minors, 400 women and several members of the security forces and the Revolutionary Guards who were eliminated by the protesters.

The officials told the news agency that the decision to resort to harsh violence against the protesters was made at the highest echelons in the country, with Iran's top leader Ali Khamenei watching videos in which the protesters lit his portrait. According to the report, Khamenei instructed security chiefs: "Do whatever is necessary to stop the demonstrations."

Meanwhile, the opposition organization "The Mujahideen of the Iranian People" has confirmed the number of those killed in the demonstrations, claiming that he has 500 names of those killed in a wave of protests against the regime. According to the organization, more than 300 of those killed whose names were identified were killed in Tehran.

About two weeks ago, the US Secretary of State estimated that the death toll could rise to more than 1,000 people. In the United States, Iran called for all the detainees to be detained, standing alongside the protesters. At the same time, President Donald Trump has unequivocally announced that he supports the right of the Iranians to demonstrate, although he has previously stated that he is not interested in changing the regime in the country.

Meanwhile, along with the large amount of public buildings set ablaze and considerable damage to the country's infrastructure, reports from Iran reveal that authorities are continuing to locate bodies in the marshes and rivers of the southern state. There, the protest took on an ethnic character, with the Arab minority members demonstrating against continued Tehran control of the area and calling for greater autonomy for them.
