Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed the need for a political solution to the crisis in Syria in accordance with Resolution 2254.
At the start of his talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Walid al-Muallem in Moscow, Lavrov said that the international community should help return Syrian refugees to their country.
For his part, Al-Moallem said that Syria notes that Russia and China have vetoed a draft Security Council resolution that violates Syrian sovereignty.
Al-Moallem added that Syria is under aggression targeting its sovereignty and territorial integrity and is subject to theft of its oil wealth.
Al-Moallem pointed out that the American-Turkish-Israeli conspiracy against Syria continues to hinder its efforts in combating terrorism.
