Tehran-Sana

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi stressed that Iran considers the accusations leveled by the European Parliament against it a hasty and unjustified measure based on distorting the facts and based on baseless information.

In a statement to reporters today about the European Parliament’s decision regarding the recent protests that Iran witnessed, Mousavi said that Tehran, “as a democratic system, considers freedom of expression and peaceful protests a natural and legal right for its citizens, as it has always adhered to it, and like other independent countries, it fulfills its legal responsibilities in ensuring the national security of the country and addressing armed gangs.” That targets the innocent, robs their money and destroys their property. ”

Mousavi criticized the silence of the European Parliament regarding the illegal and immoral US ban on Iran, saying that not condemning it constitutes a violation of the rights of the Iranian people, calling on the members of the European Parliament to be fair, realistic and increase the ability to bear ideas and opposing standards.

Yesterday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani described the path of sanctions against his country as a "dead end and harmful to everyone," noting that violating the embargo on Iran is everyone's responsibility and that America will ultimately revoke its unjust decisions against it.
