The rains that started last night in the northern region have evolved into a stormy winter system that will accompany us through the weekend. Tomorrow a snowstorm is expected in Hermon.

In anticipation of inclement weather, accompanied by heavy rains, haze and winds of up to 30 knots, yesterday at Ben-Gurion Airport to minimize damage.

Stormy weather will continue on Thursday with showers and thunderstorms in the north and in the center. High winds will blow and there will be a fear of flooding in coastal and lowland cities. The Negev will be your father and there may be local rain. In the coming days there will be concern about floods in the Jordan Valley and the Judean Desert. Temperatures will also decrease.

Winter weather will continue on Friday and Saturday with rainfall in the north and center. It also rained sometimes in the Negev. The prairie will be partly cloudy and may fog with light rain. In Hermon it was still snowing, and it was only in the evening that the rain would diminish and weaken. Saturday will be partly cloudy to overcast.

The stormy weather felt good in Tel Aviv harbor, and extremely high waves broke during Wednesday along the boardwalk. Particularly intense wind gusts have caused damage across the country. In Tel Aviv, a tree collapsed on a row of two-wheeled vehicles.

Late in the morning, snow began to fall on the lower level of the Hermon site. By early evening, 15 cm of snow was already stacked on the upper level of the site and 10 cm had accumulated on the lower level. Due to inclement weather, the Hermon site will remain closed to visitors today.

Throughout the Golan and the Galilee there was torrential rain and, every year, even flooded in some places. The port of Haifa was also closed yesterday afternoon for ships entering due to the height of the waves. Today the stormy weather will continue: rain will fall to the north and in the north, it will be colder than usual and Hermon will continue to snow. Wind gusts (70-50 km / h, and gusts of up to 100 km / h) can be expected and haze expected. There is a slight fear of flooding due to floods in the Judean and Dead Sea rivers and flooding on the coastal plain.
