The Security Bureau said in a reply that overtime work arrangements for police officers are strictly controlled by the "Civil Service Regulations", related circulars and relevant internal police regulations. According to the relevant regulations, overtime work will be compensated by make-up leave. If it is impossible or unlikely to make up for the leave within 30 days after the overtime work is performed, the authorities may approve the disciplinary force for overtime work to qualified personnel. allowance. The Authority stated that civil servants may apply for a local meal allowance if they are on duty in Hong Kong for a continuous duty of 12 hours or more within any 24 hours (from the start of duty) as directed by the department head.
