(CNN) - The Coast Guard teams are looking for a helicopter with seven people on board who could not return from a tour of the Napali coast of Kauai in Hawaii on Thursday night.

The owner of the helicopter company contacted the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Honolulu when the aircraft did not return from a tour along the Napali coast, the Coast Guard said in a press release.

A pilot and six passengers were in the helicopter and two of those passengers are believed to be minors.

First-class noncommissioned officer Robert Cox, of the Joint Rescue Command Center of the Honolulu Coast Guard, said the weather conditions in the search area are “challenging” with low visibility and violent winds, according to KHNL / KGMB, affiliate of CNN

"There was a cold front that crossed the area around that time, bringing scattered rains and an increase in wind gusts," CNN meteorologist Robert Shackelford said.

The aircraft is equipped with an electronic locator, but no signals have been received, authorities said.

The Coast Guard said it has sent a Dolphin MH-65 helicopter and other resources to search for the lost helicopter. Additional searches are scheduled, KHNL / KGMB reported.

Current winds are around 22 km / h with gusts of up to 40 km / h with light rain; Friday's wind forecast is between 20 and 30 km / h with gusts of up to 45 km / h and scattered showers are forecast, Shackelford said.
