Blue and White chairman attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party on Friday following the primaries held yesterday, where Netanyahu defeated his opponent to contest Gideon Sa'ar with a gap of 72.5 percent versus 27.5 percent.

In a video posted by Gantz in his Twitter account, he attacked Netanyahu's election, saying: "As it seems Likud will continue to defend defendant Netanyahu who is leading the State of Israel in the path of corruption.

"Jabotinsky and Begin, who spoke about the supremacy of justice, chose a leader with three indictments seeking to crush the rule of law and gain personal immunity, rather than engaging in what is important to Israeli citizens.

"These elections require us to place a mirror image for the Netanyahu Party and to choose unity, statehood and internal reconciliation. The State of Israel needs to embark on a new path, and for that purpose the blue and white must achieve a clear decision to extricate us from the political plunder and the corruption path," he concluded.

Results of Likud primaries: 72.5% support for Netanyahu

Remember, the Likud-led elections were held ahead of the elections in March 2020, when, for the first time since the incumbent of former Prime Minister Silvan Shalom in 2005, MK Gideon Sa'ar has been confronted with him.

In the primaries themselves, Netanyahu won an unequivocal victory, with 72.5 percent support, and won in 99 of 106 party constituencies. After the victory, Saar called Netanyahu and the two agreed to cooperate in the upcoming elections.

After announcing the results, Sa'ar said: "I would like to thank my friends, wife and Knesset members who have made the road with me, my colleagues, and my amazing partners in volunteer weather weather.
