The Ministry of the Environment has confirmed: the levy on Leviathan rig will begin on Tuesday

The third phase of the Leviathan gas rig run, the settlement, will begin on Tuesday - the Ministry of Environmental Protection confirmed to Noble Energy on Friday. This is subject to compliance with all professional environmental conditions. The ministry emphasized that it would not compromise on the professional conditions for carrying out the brewing, as it has hitherto, and yet, sharpened that there were no special guidelines for the public and that the impact on air quality would be minimal.

The Noble Energy Company announced shortly thereafter that the third phase of the rig, the brewing phase, is expected to begin around 7:00 a.m. and last up to eight hours. It was also reported that the activities carried out on the rig did not affect the routine of life. After examining the issue, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Health determined that no risk to residents is expected, so there is no need to change the routine of life. The heads of local authorities and the Ministry of Education also announced this, and the court approved the planned activities.

Last Monday, the firm announced that it does not allow Noble Energy to complete the rig run while emitting pollutants into the air. According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the company did not meet all the stringent conditions it had set for the municipal action planned to take place in the last third, and therefore, the action was rejected. The ministry said that the company must complete the missing items by the next billing date, and get approval from the Ministry of the Environment that it meets all the conditions for the billing plan.

This approval comes after the Zichron Yaacov and Carmel Coast area have struggled in recent years to remove natural gas treatment from land to sea, and after deciding to construct it at sea, about ten kilometers off the coast of Dor, the struggle began for its removal to "according to the well", ie about 100 km. Offshore.

The Housekeeping Association claimed that "the regulator avoids taking full responsibility for the amount and rate of emissions released and openly declares that the quantity to be emitted is" according to the Nobel Energy Declaration "and not according to the assessment of office or third-party experts with global experience in the field." The association is suspicious of Noble Energy's reports on the rate of burying, burying hours and the amount of pollutants, claiming that "throughout the Israeli society, it has hidden information from the public, radically exceeded its forecasts, provided extreme estimates and even lied to the public."

What is the process of charging?

The two 18-inch pipes that carry the natural gas are currently filled with nitrogen. A soon-to-open "Shaver" main faucet will allow the gas to rise and start flowing through the pipe. The gas will push the nitrogen for about five hours and then eight hours of charging will begin - exhaust into the open air of the pipe contents.

Initially, nitrogen will be exported, then nitrogen mixed with gas, then gas mixed with nitrogen and then natural gas that will be extracted into the air until what comes out of the pipes will be at a 95% concentration of methane gas. At this stage, the treatment will begin and from that moment the gas will pass through the pipeline to the coast of Israel, from there to Netgaz and its consumers, and thus for the next 30 years (according to estimates).
