Twelve-year-old Nili Haddad did not even know if she would celebrate Bat Mitzvah, but not only did she mark the occasion, but also made an important contribution.

About a year ago Nili's little brother, Nir (4), was diagnosed with a large cancerous tumor in the abdominal cavity. When the cancer spread, he was rushed to US treatments with their parents, a month before the intended celebration.

"Ask me if I'm sure I want to celebrate Bat Mitzvah while the whole family is dealing with cancer," says Nili, who replied, "It's just now that my family is coming to celebrate, my parents are happy, and right now it's important for me to spread the light, continue the good and give back." .

Nili's Giving is a braid that she extended to donate to cancer patients at her Bat Mitzvah event, as part of the "Powerful Braid" campaign of Zichron Menachem and the Pantan brand. "I know how important my hair is, and how much it helps me feel beautiful, and I want other girls who have the disease to feel as beautiful as I feel," she explains. "Over the past year, Mum and Dad tell how much help they received from Zichron Menachem and other people It's fun we can give back for others too. "

Nili's parents, Racheli and Lior, said that above all, it was important for them to maintain a joyous event, which would not revolve around their young son's illness, but around their daughter, who did not press her parents or make them feel bad about going to the US for her siblings. "It's important for us to focus on joy and giving," says Racheli. "When Nir was just diagnosed, one of the first things we did was sit down in Zichron Menachem and get directions and help. Knowing that today we can give back makes this joyous event even more exciting. "

"Do for the Other"

Just before the braid was cut, Nili turned to her guests and said, "Maybe while I do my hair, each and every one of you can think of a good deed he can do for another."

The "Powerful Braid" campaign of the Zichron Menachem and Fenten brand, to collect hair donations for cancer patients, will be held January 7-1. 426 books across the country will tell each and every donor for free. This year, five donations will be held throughout Israel: Haifa (January 1), Jerusalem (January 2), Beer Sheva (January 5), Tel Aviv (January 6) and Nazareth (January 7).
