Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed today with members of the Russian Federal Security Council the situation in Syria and Libya.
"The participants in the meeting discussed in the context of Putin's phone calls with a number of his foreign counterparts the situation in Syria, focusing on the problem of the escalation of terrorist activities in Idlib," the Novosti news agency quoted Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov as saying.
Peskov added that the meeting also dealt with the situation in Libya and "international efforts aimed at a settlement in this country."
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova confirmed in a press conference yesterday that there is no tolerance for a terrorist enclave in Idlib.
