To see their experience in the international and international competitions of the scientific Olympiad and benefit from it, the Excellence and Creativity Authority organized this evening scientific workshops in the sciences of “mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics and biology” that brought together old students with new Olympics students participating in the final tests of the 2019-2020 season in the Ebla Hotel in Damascus .

The participants' discussions focused on the workshops on the standards and rules of the international scientific competitions for the Olympiad and the steps that must be taken during them and providing guidance to new students on research and studies that can be useful and support their information.

The Syrian Scientific Olympiad teams in the international and international competitions for the year 2019 achieved several achievements, which were distributed between silver and bronze medals and certificates of appreciation, which numbered 39.

In a statement to Sana, the director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad Nabog Yassin indicated that the old students participating in the workshops are members of the national teams that participated in international competitions previously, noting that training old students for their new colleagues formed a great added value to enable the new students and develop the scientific Olympiad project.

Yassin drew attention to the ability of the old students to transfer the atmosphere of international competitions and invest their expertise in this field. Therefore, the Excellence and Creativity Commission worked to include them in its cadres as trainers, members of scientific committees, secretaries and administrators, noting that such scientific workshops are held at the level of a number of governorates also before the final tests.

A number of new students emphasized the importance of scientific workshops to take advantage of their colleagues' experiences in thinking mechanisms and guide them in order to find solutions in faster ways. Sarah Jamali and Raghad Al-Manla, who are participating in the subject of biology, indicated that the workshops contribute to focusing their information and the mechanism of devising new solutions to issues while attracting each of Judy Muhammed and Moamen, a forty-year-old believer in physics, stressed the importance of exchanging experiences between new and old students and highlighting the points that must be focused on in international tests and providing additional training for them.

Marah Al-Khawaja considered that the students who qualified through the Informatics Software Marathon to participate in the final exams of informatics that the participation of the old students has a great role in transferring their experience at the global level

In addition to discussing the questions of the first stage tests of the final qualifications they presented this morning to avoid difficulties in the subsequent tests, while Yara Suleiman and Farah Khudair, who participate in mathematics, pointed out the great benefit that old students offer to new students during the various stages of the tests in terms of knowing their experiences in international competitions And support the strengths and excellence of each student.

For their part, a number of old students saw their participation in these workshops as a duty towards new students to transfer the experiences they had acquired, where coach Nizar Al-Oqla, who participated in the International Olympiad for Chemistry in 2018, pointed out the importance of guiding new students to pay attention to the time factor during solving the tests and dividing it in an optimal way alongside Developing their practical skills in finding solutions, while Hadi Abbas pointed to the role of the workshops in improving the level of new students and supporting them psychologically and practically in solving some models of global questions.

Coach Bakri Jamal, a member of the National Chemistry Team who participated in the global competition in 2019 in France, stressed that the most important thing that the team participating in global competitions should enjoy is self-confidence and the ability to be creative.

And launched this morning the first round of the final qualifying tests for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for the year 2019-2020 with the sciences of "mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics and biology" with the participation of 411 male and female students from the elite talents of scientific excellence in various governorates.

The second round of the final qualifying tests, which are held under the title "Excellence is a responsibility .. You may lead it", will be completed tomorrow morning, as tests of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology will be conducted at the Ebla Hotel in Damascus while

Informatics courses are conducted at the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Damascus to select members of national teams that will participate in international and international Olympiad competitions next year.
