Under the patronage of Mrs. Asma al-Assad, this morning, the first round of the final qualifying tests for the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for the period 2019-2020 were launched with the participation of 411 male and female students from the elite talents of scientific excellence in various governorates.

The final qualification tests that are held under the title (Excellence is Responsibility..You may lead it) include two rounds over two days, each duration is four continuous hours, where materials (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology) tests are conducted at the Ebla Hotel in Damascus, while information technology tests are conducted at the Faculty of Information Engineering At the University of Damascus in order to select members of the national teams that will participate in international and international Olympiad competitions next year.

The tests, in addition to the first year secondary students who qualified from the current season, include the old students from the members of the National Olympiad teams during the previous years and the first ten adolescents who won the programmatic marathon for children and adolescents for the year 2019 as the question forms were developed by the central scientific committees of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad, which includes a group of Teaching and research competencies in higher education in Syria.

Once the tests are completed, the scientific committees correct the answers sheets and the results of the two rounds are taken, according to which the final ranking of the marks and the ranking of the participants are calculated taking into account that the final tests are similar to the tests of the World Olympics competitions in terms of organization, content and scientific level.

The Syrian Scientific Olympiad competitions for the 2019-2020 season were launched at the school level on the fourteenth of last October with the participation of students and students of the first secondary class from different governorates and then continued at the level of regions and then at the level of governorates and up to the current final stage.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian scientific Olympiad teams achieved 39 achievements in international and international competitions for the year 2019, which were divided between silver and bronze medals and certificates of appreciation.
