Al-Hasakah-Sana
The area of land planted with wheat and barley crops in Al-Hasakah for the current season reached about 900 thousand hectares distributed in various areas of agricultural stability in light of the continuation of cultivation operations to date.
The head of the Plant Production Department in the Agricultural Directorate, Eng. Jalal Bilal, told a SANA reporter that appropriate weather conditions, rainfalls and foggy weather during the past ten days encouraged farmers to continue cultivating their lands and raise the rates of completion of agricultural plans where wheat cultivation witnessed a marked improvement in implementation, especially Baal from him, pointing out that agricultural operations continue until the first week of next year.
Bilal indicated that the area planted with crops amounted to 898 thousand hectares distributed over 117 thousand and 900 hectares of irrigated wheat with a 39 percent implementation rate and 335 thousand hectares of Baal wheat with a 75 percent implementation and 19 thousand and 200 hectares of irrigated barley with an implementation rate of 79 percent and 425 thousand and 900 hectares of Baal with a percentage of implementation 128 percent compared to the agricultural sub-plan.
It is noteworthy that the area planted with wheat and barley in the Hasaka governorate during the past year approached 940 thousand hectares.
