2010 - The Marmara is caught, Carmel burning

January 19 - Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, one of Hamas and Iran's joint campaign leaders, who was responsible for smuggling weapons and Palestinian terrorists from Iran into the Gaza Strip, was assassinated at a Dubai hotel. Hamas and the Dubai Police Commander attributed the assassination to Israel.

May 31 - 13th cruise fighters take control of the Marmara ship, which sailed as part of a peace flotilla from Turkey and attempted to break the closure on Gaza. 2011 - Iron Dome intercepts, social protest erupts

February 1 - Prime Minister Netanyahu cancels Yoav Galant's appointment as chief of staff, after Galant is accused of taking over public land near his home in Moshav Amikam. About two weeks later, on February 14, Benny Gantz was appointed chief of staff.

August 18 - A series of terrorist attacks on Route 12 on the way to Eilat, near the Israeli-Egypt border.
