(CNN) - A crash involving several vehicles in Texas on Friday was partially captured in a dramatic video of an 18-wheeled truck that crashed into the scene of the accident.
The accident began as an incident between two cars on Highway 84 in Lubbock County, according to KCBD, a CNN affiliate.
Police were investigating the accident when an articulated lorry traveling eastbound slid down to the middle lane. Subsequently, several more vehicles crashed into the truck as the area was under dense fog warning at that time.

Caleb Holder, a KCBD photographer, was filming the accident scene, when a second 18-wheeler turned sharply to avoid colliding with a red SUV that changed lanes in front of him. The truck swerved off the road and rolled on its side, hitting several vehicles as it slid into a ditch directly in front of Holder, KCBD reported.
Several law enforcement officers rushed out of the way while the truck slipped uncontrollably toward them.
"We could hear more tires screeching, and then we could barely see the headlights coming through the fog," Holder reported in KCBD.

The truck hit a Texas state policeman and caught another driver inside a van. A rescue team from the Lubbock Fire Department pulled the driver out of the truck.
Both the driver and the policeman were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and are expected to survive, KCBD said.
"I've never seen anything like that in person," Holder said.
CNN contacted the State Department of Public Safety.
In total, there were a total of five crashes, involving four semi-trailers and four smaller vehicles, KCBD reported.
The accidents occurred in the middle of a dense fog warning for the area, causing 400 meters or less of visibility. Drivers were advised to reduce speed to avoid injuries.
