An indictment will be filed pending a hearing against senior executives at Rami Levy Communications and Rami Levy Sycamore Marketing who are suspected of taking advantage of the company's surveillance and networking features to track various individuals and entities - in and outside the company, the company announced Sunday The Prosecutor's Office. In doing so, the executives took advantage of the technological options given to Rami Levy Communications by Pelephone, which hosts Rami Levy Communications on its frequencies, and violated the Privacy Act.

The suspects for the offenses are: Rami Levy Communications Director, Ofir Atias; Shlomo Julian, corporate security officer; Samuel Levy, VP of Rami Levy Sycamore Marketing Ltd.; And Ephraim Yehudai Chief Liaison at Rami Levy Sycamore Marketing Ltd.

In 2011, "Rami Levy" received a license from the Ministry of Communications for mobile phone radio services. The company has contracted with Pelephone Communications, and has gained access to various Pelephone operating systems, including a system that records communication data and allows to generate call outputs and location data. The system is intended for use by telecommunications companies for the purpose of fraud prevention, and for this purpose only.

It is suspected that from 2011-2016, senior members of Rami Levy conducted hundreds of tests in the system, contrary to the purpose of the database. According to suspected senior officials, the system was misused to investigate, detect and investigate people, company employees and non-company employees, without their knowledge or consent and with serious infringement of their privacy. The suspects did so for different needs - personal and business, on many different occasions, in a way that became a repetitive pattern of action to clarify various matters that the management of the company requested or asked to find out through their database.

For example, in 2013, after breaking into Ophir Atias' home and detecting suspects in her execution, Julian, at Atias's request, conducted checks on various people's phone numbers. In another case, Julian performed a system check on a person's number, due to a small lawsuit filed against Rami Levy. In another case, Julian conducted checks in the system on the number of journalists, in the light of a negative article published on the company. Further checks were made to employees of a subsidiary of "Rami Levi" on suspicion of forming a workers' committee.

The Prosecutor's Office notes that the tests that appear in the suspicion were conducted for no purpose for which the database was established and for which the information was provided, without the consent of the subjects being obtained.
