Under the patronage of Mrs. Asma al-Assad, the Excellence and Creativity Commission honored today the winners of the first 15 places in the Syrian Scientific Olympiad competitions for the 2019-2020 season with the sciences of “mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics and biology” at the Palace of Congresses in Damascus.

The first place in the mathematics subject won the student Muath Bahlawan from Aleppo, while the student Miriam Rahmoun from Damascus ranked second and the student Haidara Khaddour from Tartus ranked third. In her speech during the honoring ceremony, Eng. Hala Al-Daqqaq, head of the Excellence and Creativity Authority, stressed that the students ’arrival to the final qualifying stage is an important achievement and success and a first step in the long path of excellence, indicating that the Authority seeks in its future plans to develop training methodologies and practical qualification for students and to participate in global competitions that include new science Such as the Nanotechnology Olympiad and the Mathematical Modeling Olympiad, who will participate for the first year next year and a team from the National Center of Excellence, and participation will be available later in the coming years to all school students.

The Dakkak drew attention to the increasing prevalence of the Olympiad culture in the Syrian society and the effectiveness of voluntary training programs in some governorates, which led to a high number of participants, indicating the importance of educational and educational institutions becoming bodies of excellence and creativity that contribute to monitoring cases of excellence and sponsoring them into a scientific society that produces knowledge.

For her part, the director of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad in the Excellence and Creativity Authority, Nabog Yassin, praised the support and support provided by the partner bodies of the Excellence and Creativity Authority such as the Ministry of Education, the Revolutionary Youth Union and the Syrian Secretariat for Development and the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics and the Syrian Virtual University and this in various scientific competitions for the Syrian Olympiad and school debates and programming marathon For children and adolescents, university programming competition and robotic competitions.
