Shimon Hayot, who was known as the "Tinder crook," will face a 15-month prison sentence for theft and counterfeiting, according to a Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court judge, Noa Tavor.

According to the indictment, about eight years ago, animals stole three checks while babysitting and filling one of the checks to the tune of NIS 250,000, even forging the account owner's signature. Animals wasted no time and already that day signed a reminder of buying a Porsche vehicle. The check was honored and then he sold the vehicle he received fraudulently for NIS 160,000. Two other spoofed checks were used by him for flying studies and a computer shop.

According to another charge, animals stole three more checks from another home where he was employed as a babysitter - and also forged the checks, bought a vehicle and covered NIS 50,000 in debt. The third charge states that animals abandoned a child in the kindergarten while serving as a babysitter after hearing that he was complaining to police about the theft of checks. The latest charge against him is for the purchase of a fake passport with which he left the country via the Allenby Bridge.

The prosecutor in the case noted that the charges against animals, filed in 2012 and 2014, were suspended for failure to appear and renewed in 2017 after animals were deported from Finland following a prison term.

"During the course of the proceeding, the defendant left for Greece, where he stayed for two years. He is not charged with fleeing, but he left the country and was extradited to Greece after two years last October," the plaintiff noted, adding that he was willing to pay a significant share of the theft amount.

Beast himself said in the hearing before sentencing: "I regret everything and admit the case. I would like to add that I did not leave the country for terror or because of this case, but personal things caused me to do so. I regret it. Now I pay my debt to the company ".

The nickname "Tinder crook" was given to animals following a Norwegian newspaper's investigation that followed him for six months. According to the investigation, animals met with the women he knew through the Tinder dating app, introducing them to an extravagant lifestyle. The money he wasted came from other women who stole large sums of money.
