2019-12-30T22:26:13.819Z

The CSU apparently wants to take tax relief from families - "regardless of their family life situation as single earners, double earners or single parents." There is also talk of a "parental allowance bonus"

On January 6, the CSU members of the Bundestag meet in the Bavarian monastery in Seeon for the traditional winter retreat and talk about the topics that they want to put on the agenda for the coming year. The "Süddeutsche Zeitung" now reports, referring to the present decision situation, that the CSU strives for a significant relief of families.

The CSU wants "that fathers and mothers can bring the care and upbringing of their children with their professional obligations into the right balance for them" - namely "regardless of their family life situation as single earners, double earners or single parents", according to "SZ ".

The Christian Socialists want to "introduce a daycare package for the daycare route". In future, in addition to the way to work, "the additional way to kindergarten or kindergarten should also be tax deductible". The CSU members of the Bundestag also want "contributions for childcare costs to be fully tax-deductible." In addition, according to the wishes of the regional group, child benefit is to be increased by EUR 15 per month from January 1, 2021, and the child allowance is to be increased accordingly.

The CSU also strives for a "parental allowance bonus". One wants to "encourage fathers to take parental leave more than before", according to the "Süddeutscher Zeitung" in the draft resolution. If both the father and mother take parental leave, the entitlement to parental benefit should increase by two to 16 months. However, it should continue to be limited to a maximum of twelve months per parent.

After all, the CSU wants to improve single parents. Therefore, the "amount of tax relief for single parents on income tax is to be more than doubled from currently 1908 euros to 4000 euros".
