The air defenses of the Yemeni army and people's committees downed this morning a spy plane belonging to the Saudi aggression alliance in Hiran district, Hajjah.
Al-Masirah Net website quoted Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier Yahya Sari as saying in a statement that "the air defenses managed to shoot down the spy plane in the Al-Tina area of Hiran District," explaining that it was shot down by a surface-to-air missile while carrying out hostilities in the airspace of Yemen.
Brigadier General Sari said that the airspace of Yemen is no longer tolerated, and that this targeting is considered the launch of the Air Defense Year.
It is noteworthy that the Yemeni air defense operations during the current year amounted to 237 and resulted in the shooting down of 69 aircraft for the aggression alliance, including 7 combat aircraft, 9 reconnaissance aircraft and 53 spy planes.
