In 2008, the world credit crisis erupted, following which, among other things, it seemed that Israeli businessman Isaac Tshuva was exhausting himself. His real estate investments collapsed and complicated him with debts he had no chance of getting out of. But in January 2009, the Tamar repository was found, which ransacked the cards. Delek owns 22% of the repository directly and additional holdings through "Tamar Petroleum." But Teshuva is a marginal story in this discovery, which was a promo for a two-fold greater discovery - "Leviathan." The reservoir was discovered in late 2010 and the more reliable tests indicated the volume of 540 billion cubic meters of natural gas - 540 BCM. The next decades.

These discoveries are a great miracle for the State of Israel; They put Israel on the world map, they made us dependent consumers on proud suppliers; They will lead to the dependence of Egypt and Jordan in Israel, and help us to create neighborly relations of a kind we did not know with Cyprus, Greece and Italy; They have damaged the terrorist infrastructure, a strong rise in the shekel's confidence and Israel's foreign exchange reserves, and are saving lives.

The State of Israel has had to operate coal-fired power plants, which are characterized by disadvantaged countries. Coal is more convenient to store and, in particular, safer to store, so it was important in creating the security of electricity supply during the fuel oil period.

Remember, in spite of all of these, these discoveries were not accepted on the dances in the streets of the country. Some suggested "leaving the gas in the soil". Some saw these discoveries as a disaster, as reducing Israel's dependence on the world was viewed as a major disadvantage that Israel would be tolerant of making decisions on its own ... There were those who were discouraged by the people in Zion and their choices, and the hope remained that outside pressure would help us make "right decisions." Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Energy Minister Dr. Yuval Steinitz, as well as the last two governments in general, deserve great credit for overcoming the many obstacles and their determination to realize these tremendous discoveries.

In Northern European countries, such as Norway, a national fund has been established to which some of the profits from natural gas and oil exports are poured. Norway is one of the largest energy exporters in the world, and despite its efforts to preserve revenues for future purposes, it has groups of melines that are seriously hurting the industries due to its focus on energy issues. But the standard of living of its citizens is higher, and the discoveries of energy have given it independence that allowed it not to join the EU.
