The motorway section between Masone and the connection with the A10, heading south, of the A26 Genova-Gravellona Toce motorway was reopened this morning . Traffic circulates on a lane in exchange for roadway and there are no traffic disturbances. The section was closed yesterday evening due to the collapse of a portion of the roof of the Bertè tunnel.
Part of the vault of the Bertè tunnel on the A26, near Masone, towards Genoa, fell in the late afternoon yesterday. No means have been involved. The stretch from Masone to the A26 / A10 junction has been closed with a mandatory exit at Masone, with the exception of heavy vehicles that remain in the queue. Traffic police patrols and teams of Autostrade technicians intervened on the spot. Some concrete slabs ended up on the central course, the gallery has three lanes. Only by accident was no vehicle hit. The municipality of Rossiglione on its Facebook page has sounded the alarm inviting motorists to pay maximum attention in A26 because in the first tunnel after Masone there were stones on the roadway. In this case, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport urgently summoned the company Autostrade per l'Italia.
"I am deeply sorry for what happened today. We will pay close attention to what happened. The technicians immediately intervened in the tunnel and are checking what has happened. We will proceed with the utmost rigor, on all fronts". Aspi Roberto Tomasi tonight at the end of the meeting in the Liguria Region.
The collapse of a part of the vault of an A26 tunnel "is one more reason to start a control plan not only for bridges but also for tunnels, we have officially asked Aspi". This was stated by Mayor Marco Bucci at the end of the meeting in the Region with the CEO of Aspi Roberto Tomasi on the critical issues underway in the Ligurian motorway network. For Governor Toti "an extraordinary plan is needed for the safety, monitoring and maintenance of the road infrastructure of Liguria". And he added referring to the collapse in the tunnel: "This further episode leaves us stunned. We have been asking for some time about the safety situation of tunnels and viaducts. I spoke with Minister De Micheli who I think is equally stunned".
