UK Foreign Ministry: Concerned about the young conviction in Cyprus
Photo: Yoav Itiel, Editor: Amit SimchaThe UK Foreign Office has expressed concern over the 19-year-old British woman's conviction of public harassment after she was allegedly raped by a group of Israeli boys in Ayia Napa. "The UK is very concerned about the trial in this appalling case, and we will raise the issue with the Cyprus authorities," the spokesman said.
The Foreign Ministry announcement came after the young woman's mother rejected the ruling, calling it "completely puzzling." She noted that the family was very disappointed with the court's decision that the petition would face a prison sentence.

NEWS Arie Fraser, a former Israeli resident of Florida who was one of the first contributors to funding the British trial," I don't think she has been given a fair trial. Under the influence of drugs and post-trauma without the possibility of consulting a lawyer? It is somewhat expected of the judicial system to defend the prosecution and the decision to indict her, but it is a decision that is reminiscent of dark regimes. I did not have high expectations, but I hoped that at least the trial would proceed with it properly. Hope the appeal looks more justice. "
