A social worker from the Beer Sheva municipality is accused of stealing equipment worth tens of thousands of shekels from a family in need. According to the indictment, filed Wednesday in the city Magistrate's Court, the worker was part of a program called "Breathing Welfare," which was supposed to provide hard-working families with financial help today, especially in providing products.

Among other things, the employee has issued orders for electrical appliances, washing machines, cabinets, utensils, TVs and many other products. The signing of these orders was made while claiming that these were products that would benefit the families of today. The indictment also shows that the employee even forged signatures of the accompanying employee and family members on the vouchers, and did not deliver the same products to them at all. Instead, she took the products - totaling NIS 36,000 - for her personal needs.

After completing the voucher issuing process and signatures, she contacted the various suppliers and ordered different products and services from them for herself. Its products include a washing machine valued at NIS 2,300, two televisions worth NIS 2,000, several espresso machines and mixers worth several thousand NIS, and indeed wardrobes and libraries whose price reaches NIS 2,500 per item.

The indictment, filed after a lengthy investigation by the South County Police Fraud Unit, attributes it to thefts, theft and breach of trust.
