The General Organization for Drinking Water in Sweden has completed water projects during the past year, at a total cost of more than 3 billion pounds, with the aim of improving the water reality and meeting the needs of citizens.

The General Manager of the Foundation, Eng. Engineer Shuqair stated that drilling and cladding of 6 new wells have also been completed to be placed in service this year distributed by a well in the village of Majdal and two wells east of the town of Uri in favor of the villages of Kafr and Habran and a well in the village of Labbeen and a well in the site of the youth residence suburb in the town of Salim and a well in the neighborhood of Sahari in the city Shahba in addition to the completion of the project to irrigate the village of Shaab and re-start the filter stations on the dams of Rum, Habran, Jabal Al-Arab and Al-Mashnaf, which stopped operating due to the stock in stock in the summer and fall of 2018.

Eng. Shuqair pointed out that linking projects have also been implemented for a number of wells and filtering stations, building water tanks for wells in Douma and Shahba, replacing old and worn out water networks with a length of 35 km and expanding old networks in the city of Sweida and the countryside of the governorate with a length of 20 km.
