Media outlets in the Arab world reported Saturday a series of air strikes on facilities of the Revolutionary Guards and Shiite militias in northeastern Syria, near the town of Buchmal.

According to reports on Hezbollah-affiliated television network El Miadin, several bases have been hit by unidentified aircraft attacks. According to reports elsewhere, a number of Iranian civilians were hit by bombings near the Imam Ali base near the Iraqi border.

The Imam Ali Revolutionary Revolutionary Guards Base is the diamond in the crown of the Iranian presence project in Syria. The base, and its dedicated border crossing, allow passage of a land route extending through Iraq to Iran, eliminating the need for Revolutionary Guards forces to hold an airborne landing system, an array that could collapse with widespread Israeli attack. The base was built to contain large and well-armed military force, perhaps even in long-range missiles.

Today, a Syrian-affiliated news site in Syria, Deir-e-Zor 24, reported that a large force of the Zinbion Shiite militia arrived in the Bochmal area yesterday with the aim of strengthening militia forces in the region.

A tunnel revealed by published satellite footage has shown that the base was built as a front base for advanced weapons storage, which may be used by Iranians in the event of a global confrontation with Israel. Foreign media recently reported the landing of Iranian transport aircraft at T4 base in Syria. Various officials have estimated that these are purge weapons deliveries for Quds force in the country.

According to images published by ImageSat International - ISI, ImageSat International - the tunnel is being built near the Iraq border and is aimed at rocket storage and retention. It is unknown whether its construction is complete and whether it can be used for operational assaults.

It was also reported that a Katyusha missile landed in the green area but did not cause any damage or casualties. The Iraqi media claims that the target of the attack is the United States Embassy in Iraq. It was also reported that two more missiles were fired at the US Air Force base near the city of Blood, north of Baghdad. Five civilians were injured in a rocket that fell in a residential neighborhood not far from the U.S. Embassy.

Iraqi Hezbollah Battalions, a Shiite organization operating under the auspices of Iran in Iraq, in a statement after reports of Baghdad's Katyusha shooting: "Starting tomorrow evening, we recommend that the security forces in the country stay away from US bases for at least a kilometer.
