(CNN) - In the 77th installment of the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, nearly 1,300 guests will take a seat at the historic The Beverly Hilton hotel and will be served a pre-show dinner for the best in Hollywood.
The feast will be plant-based, a decision made by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for concern due to climate change. The group is the non-profit organization that awards prizes to movie and television luminaires.
"The climate crisis is impossible to ignore and after talking with our colleagues and friends in the community, we feel challenged to do better," said Lorenzo Soria, president of the organization, in a statement to CNN. "The decision to serve a completely plant-based meal was taken by our partners at the Beverly Hilton, and represents a small step in response to a big problem."

The Beverly Hilton has hosted the Golden Globe 49 times and for the past 45 consecutive years.
"Our talented culinary team is excited to create dynamic plant-based offerings for the best of Hollywood's best," said Matthew Morgan, Executive Chef of The Beverly Hilton, in a statement to CNN.
Although the meat has been removed from the menu, executive chefs Matthew Morgan and Thomas Henzi will not make any concessions with luxury.
Guests will be served a vibrant frozen golden beet soup covered with beets and caramel-striped pistachios.
For the main course, the mushrooms occupy a central place, presented in the “scallops” of King Oyster mushrooms and the wild mushroom risotto.
In a final ornament, a vegan dessert of opera dome will provide a sweet touch.

A team of 11 chefs, 120 culinary employees, 50 bartenders, 160 butlers and 250 servers will try to ensure that dinner and each of the five subsequent parties at the hotel take place without problems.
Soria said in a statement that, in addition to making vegetables the star of the pre-show dinner, the program has also taken steps to eliminate single-use plastic bottles and water.
"We hope to raise awareness about small changes that can have a greater impact," he said. "We know that awards shows have a long way to go, and we can all do better."
