Intelligence Factors: At present there is no alert for Iranian reaction against Israel

The Political-Security Cabinet convened for the first time since the elimination of Iranian Quds Force chief Qassem Suleimani for an update and evaluation. The assessment of the intelligence sources presented at the hearing shows that at this stage there is no real response to Israel, and that the Iranians are currently busy with the funeral and mourning events. The defense establishment estimates that a response, if any, will follow. On Wednesday, another meeting is expected.

The assessment comes despite the threat of former Revolutionary Guards commander Mohsen Rezai that the response to the assassination would be an attack on Haifa and Israeli military bases. In a speech by Rezai in Tehran, he warned that the reaction against the United States would be severe.

At the opening of yesterday's cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu emphasized that Israel is on the side of the United States in light of the US offensive that led to Suleimani's assassination and other officials last Friday. "President Trump is well-deserved for his determination and determination," said Netanyahu. "Kassem Suleimani has resulted in the deaths of many other innocent American civilians over the past few decades and these days he has also designed and carried out many terrorist attacks throughout the Middle East and beyond."

Given the growing tension in the Middle East after the liquidation, the United States today issued a warning to its citizens staying in Israel due to fear of a reaction. The notice specifically refers to missile firing without warning, and includes defensive guidelines when playing red color warning and conducting in protected spaces.

"As a precaution, the embassy strongly encourages United States citizens to remain alert and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness, as security incidents, including missile fire, often occur without warning," the statement read.

Hundreds of thousands of people attend Solimani's funeral today - a final stop for the burial of a Quds Force commander whose body was recently transferred from Iraq to Iran.
