The Korean Ministry of Disease Management stated that the 36-year-old Chinese woman who was suspected of having "unknown cause of pneumonia" had visited Wuhan from December 13 to 17, 2019, and had symptoms of pneumonia. The patient stated that he had not been to a seafood market or had contact with wildlife.
The patient reported that the symptoms of cough and sore throat began to appear on December 31, 2019, and then went to Osan Korean Hospital for medical treatment from January 2 to 3, 2020 due to cough and fever, and then in Dongtan on January 6 Sacred Heart Hospital is being treated. The patient is currently under quarantine.
The Gyeonggi-do Institute of Health and Environment conducted nine tests on patients, including Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), all of which were negative.
The Disease Management Division said on the 7th that in response to "unknown cause of pneumonia" in Wuhan, China, precautionary measures have been taken, including strengthening entry-exit inspection control and temperature monitoring of all flights from Wuhan.
