ICAC sues ex-China Overseas Construction Electrician over 113,000 illegal commissions

He was charged with 15 counts, including 11 agents receiving benefits and 3 agents soliciting benefits, violating the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance, and a conspiracy to defraud. The defendant was released on bail and will appear in Tuen Mun Magistracy next Monday (13).

The case stated that the 45-year-old defendant, Huang Jiahua, was an electrician of China Overseas Construction at the time of the case and was assigned to participate in a Hong Kong International Airport infrastructure project for electronic wiring. The defendant included 11 charges of corruption charges, in which he was suspected to have received a total of approximately 62,000 yuan and 41,500 yuan from two electricians without legal authority or reasonable excuse from May 8, 2017 to December 9, 2017.
