It was claimed by users, requested by elected officials, promised by RATP and SNCF, and it is now confirmed: the Navigo pass will be fully reimbursed to subscribers in December. Valérie Pécresse, president of the region and its organizing authority for Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) transport, confirmed this Wednesday evening. “Tonight there is at least good news for Ile-de-France users. I got the reimbursement of a month of Navigo pass for all Ile-de-France users, ”she announced.
Concretely, there will be an Internet platform, at Mondedommagementnavigo.com, which will be open "by the end of January" to claim reimbursement. This will be possible for all subscribers, "whatever their line and means of transport". You will need to provide proof of payment or the number of your annual Navigo. This reimbursement will also be possible for Navigo Week packages purchased in December.
This announcement comes after meetings held throughout the afternoon between Valérie Pécresse and the leaders of RATP and SNCF. On paper, the solution seems simple: € 75.20 to reimburse approximately 2.65 million users, or € 200 million to pay. But behind the scenes, we had to know who was going to pay.
It was enough to see the atmosphere between Valérie Pécresse and Catherine Guillouard, CEO of RATP who arrived at the regional headquarters in the early afternoon, to understand that nothing was easy in these negotiations. Contractually, RATP and SNCF must pay penalties each year if they do not run as many trains and subways as provided for in their contract. But nothing obliges them to reimburse the subscriptions of the travelers.
However, the measure quickly became inevitable in the face of the galleys of Ile-de-France residents, who also had to pay their subscription for January, after having already spent € 75.20 in December for nothing or almost nothing. And, for Valérie Pécresse, it is "to operators who have not achieved the minimum service that they owe Ile-de-France Mobilités" to make this "commercial gesture".
A few minutes later, Catherine Guillouard, gloomy, recognized that the RATP was going to co-finance with the SNCF the reimbursement of December. But asked in the process that it is also the penalties paid to IDFM (several tens of millions of euros) that are used to compensate customers.

Finally, the agreement found, the details of which have not been disclosed, provides that IDFM can contribute "if the reimbursement request is too strong", beyond a certain ceiling, said Valérie Pécresse.
