A police chase ended in a shooting on Periférico Sur Avenue in Mexico City on Thursday night, authorities in the Mexican capital reported.
At least one suspected criminal was killed during the exchange of gunfire with police in the central lanes of one of the busiest roads in the city and two officers were injured . The Mexico City Security Secretariat said two alleged criminals had been arrested.

Videos posted on social networks show the moment of the confrontation, in which loud gunshots were heard, as well as a strong police presence.
The events took place during the busiest hour in the city, and severely affected congestion to the south.

The chase of a blue minivan truck by several police patrols began with an attempted robbery in the Olviar del Conde neighborhood, in the Álvaro Obregón mayor's office, and ended when the vehicle where the alleged criminals were traveling crashed into a compact car White color near the intersection with Romulo O'Farril Avenue.
