CES 2020 is just around the corner , or at least the official start is because many companies, such as Samsung or Dell, have advanced to the official program and announced some products in advance.

You may wonder, so what? Why should I worry about CES? Well, it is the most important show when talking about technology. There are a lot of prototypes and products on display, but you also have to keep in mind that for many of them you have to wait. It is likely that many televisions, 2-in-1 equipment, speakers and tablets announced will not arrive within a few months.

Here are some of the trends we expect:

Larger TVs that improve 4K and 8K

Samsung enthusiastically embraced the 8K trend last year and will not stop in 2020. We also expect many other manufacturers to join the 8K revolution in this CES.

You are probably wondering, for what? Especially if we consider that many broadcasts are only in HD. The answer is that these televisions can scale the content to 8K, or at least to a larger format. It is the same technology that we saw when the first 4K screens arrived, and allows us to obtain a sharper image even if there are not yet native signals in 8K.

Opting for an 8K TV also assures us that it is proof of what comes in the future, and with 4K screens going down in price and increasingly affordable models, we could soon see good deals in 8K. CES will also bring a large influx of new 4K models.

Many Alexa, Google Assistant and HomeKit devices

Apple, Amazon and Google usually remain in the background during CES, but that does not mean that the respective smart home ecosystems will be silent. Many devices will get smart features - some even that you probably shouldn't. Kohler, for example, announced a shower head that has a speaker with Alexa.

Other smart devices, such as plugs, lights and sensors of all shapes and sizes will also be protagonists. And we hope that they follow the trend of working in all three ecosystems, so that it is easy to move between them and work holistically in any smart home system.

Folding screens in many sizes

Samsung launched the Galaxy Fold last year and Microsoft gave us the Duo and Neo as prototypes. It is safe to say that folding screens are here to stay, and we will see their impact not only on mobile devices, but also on computers. With Windows working on software improvement with Google, it will be easier for developers and hardware manufacturers to create these devices.

Wireless headphones in every corner

The AirPods have become one of our favorite products of 2019. We loved the new AirPods Pro, for example, because they not only had better sound quality but new features, such as noise cancellation. The Galaxy Buds filled in 2019 that same hole for Android and Amazon users also joined the trend with the Echo buds.

You can be sure that many more will arrive in this CES 2020. JLab audio has already announced a pair of wireless headphones for $ 29, so we will also see the options of the entire price spectrum.
