The China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today released information about the new coronavirus that caused unknown pneumonia in Wuhan, including the complete viral gene sequence, and uploaded an image of the new coronavirus. Earlier today, the WHO thanked China for its willingness to share virus information with other regions and contribute to the protection of global health.
Kong Fanyi, assistant dean of the University of Hong Kong School of Medicine and director of the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Department of Internal Medicine, said that with the latest gene sequences, it is expected that laboratory staff can design a new rapid PCR test within a few days to a week to test whether the patient sample is targeted He is positive for the new virus in Wuhan, and he expects the new test to take three to four hours to produce results.
