A suspected illegal gas station was robbed for three consecutive days at Ching Cheung Road, Kwai Chung, revealing that a roadside gas station with a similar business model was popular in the transportation industry. According to industry insiders, the price of diesel at such gas stations is much cheaper than that of oil companies. The price per liter is about 5 yuan, which is more than 60%. In addition, the monopoly of the oil company ’s market is too expensive. Large companies use “ "Gas card" also enjoys a large discount. It is difficult for ordinary car owners or small-scale companies to afford it in disguise. Roadside gas stations have emerged at the historic moment. The Fire Services Department stated that the illegal gas station at Cheng Cheung Road is one of the black spots. The Fire Service inspected the site 28 times last year and made 5 Prosecution.

Jiang Zhiwei, the convener of the Land Transport Industry Alliance, told Hong Kong 01 that there is a great distance between diesel companies and roadside gas stations. The price of oil companies varies from 14 to 15 yuan per liter of diesel, but roadside gas stations can be low. To 5 yuan, but both are the same oil, but the price difference is 1.8 to 2 times, so roadside gas stations have a market in the industry, and patrons are also very common.

Criticism of oil company retail price hike rampant

Jiang questioned that the current oil companies' monopoly conspiracy to set prices and set the retail price too high, coupled with the rampant rise in recent years, "It ’s a slowdown and almost a decline. It only costs you 1 cent. "It is inevitable that some car owners will choose to go to cheaper places to fill in the fuel.

Jiang also criticized the oil companies for moving closer to the big consortiums and providing "oil cards" to big companies. The fleet can enjoy a half-price concession for oil, about 6 yuan per liter. On the contrary, small car owners can only get discounts at high oil prices. 10%, in such an unfair competition environment, it is difficult to bear in the long run.
