Ernesto Valverde, former coach of FC Barcelona.

(CNN Spanish) - After the debacle of the Spanish Super Cup (and the years of difficult Champions League outings), the club Barcelona dismissed Ernesto Valverde from the technical direction.

In his replacement he named Quique Setién.

Setién, born in Santander, was a prominent footballer in Racing de Santander and recently directed Real Betis.

Valverde leaves the club culé after winning a Copa del Rey, two leagues and a Super Cup.
