(CNN Spanish) - The Bolivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on Monday indicating that Argentina "should not allow" former President Evo Morales "to make calls for violence, hate, discrimination or subversion, which clearly exceeds the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and other guaranteed political rights ”.

The statement is given after statements made by the ex-president made last Saturday in Buenos Aires were announced, where he said that Bolivia should organize “armed militias of the people” as in Venezuela.

"These statements by the former president are a clear call to violence against the Bolivian people and their government, and constitute serious crimes of sedition, armed uprising against the security and sovereignty of the State, conspiracy and even shape terrorism," the letter explains.

“His current legal status is that of a refugee or refugee applicant. Evo Morales cannot issue political statements of that nature, as they are a clear threat to public order, both for Bolivia and for Argentina. ”

When asked by CNN about Bolivia's request, the Argentine Foreign Ministry indicated that they will evaluate their response.

To date, the Argentine government has not yet recognized the interim government of Jeanine Áñez.
