(CNN) - Princes Guillermo and Enrique denied the story of a newspaper in the United Kingdom claiming that Guillermo's "intimidation attitude" caused a crack in the royal family.
In a joint statement sent to CNN, spokesmen for the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge said: “Despite the clear denials, today a false story was published in a UK newspaper speculating about the relationship between the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge. "
"For siblings who care so much about mental health issues, the use of incendiary language in this way is offensive and potentially harmful," the statement said.
The answer comes after a story was published in The Times, in London, on Monday, reporting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Enrique and Meghan, felt "estranged" by Guillermo's "attitude of intimidation."

The article suggested that the brothers "separated because Guillermo was not friendly to Meghan" and that the Sussex were "constantly being harassed."
Enrique and Meghan surprised the world and "disappointed" the rest of the royal family last week when they announced that they would reduce their official duties to pursue their private interests.
They added that they wanted to work to become financially independent.

Real sources have told CNN that it was not the decision itself, but the moment of its announcement that left the elderly family members injured.
Queen Elizabeth II, Enrique's grandmother, had expressly asked the prince not to publish any statement about the future of the couple, CNN learned.
The royal family will hold a summit on Monday to discuss the future of Enrique and Meghan, a palace source told CNN on Saturday.
The queen, Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince Henry will attend the meeting in Sandringham, the queen's estate in rural Norfolk, about 160 kilometers north of London.
Meghan, who has returned to Canada, where the couple and their baby Archie spent the Christmas holidays, is expected to join through a call. It is not clear when he will return to the United Kingdom.
The summit will be the first time that royals have met since the Sussex made their announcement on Wednesday.
